Another attempt, lighter and sharper

Both work a bit flat for me Ian and a slight greenish cast here at work. Not a shot I have managed, plenty of Bramblings but they never come to my feed.

Never managed a brambling shot myself, another bogey bird for me. I prefer the second shot, but think a little selective lightening around the eye would help.

The processing needs to be somewhere between the two for me, and then give the catchlight a little lift. Other than that it's a good Brambling shot, Ian.

Bit of time at work, hope you do not mind, can remove if needed. JPG has clipped blacks so no detail to find in the eye, but I find the warmer tones suit this bird better? NR on the background with just the sharp bird and branch masked through, a touch of blue on more intrusive branches. I am no expert and it was a quick Levels jobbie.

Number three for me. A delightful species to photograph.

Hi Ian.
I think Neil as improved the shot with the warmth he as put into the image and perhaps with a bit better catchlight in the eye you have a very good image IMHO still a lot better than any i have.

: :toast: Keith.
Bet it was great to see such a large flock.

Wow number 3 for me as well. I need to learn to process, wonder if I can get CS6 at academic rates once my lad starts school next year

Thanks
