Finally breaking down and doing a website. I've narrowed it down to these two. I suck at computers, so which one is easier to set up and.use? If someone has a better idea because you've found a better one I'll look at that too. Thanks

I've used smugmug, and have really liked it. Very convenient for sharing photos, privately or publicly. I love how easy it is for Lightroom to manage and synchronize all my Smugmug photos. I'm on the pro version which permits people to purchase photos. Not that I've had many sales, but that is a matter of marketing and business strategy.

They did raise prices dramatically for the pro version, so I'd check on that side of things.

I use Zenfolio and have had great success with it. I've never built a website and had no problems. I purchased a URL from GoDaddy for $9.99 and use the $100 Zenfolio membership. Check my site out at www.lostcanyonphotography.com to see what you think. I've also marketed my site through my private and business facebook pages as well as at the gallery where I'm a partner. I'm running a Christmas special right now which Zenfolio makes it easy to do. Offer discounts whenever you want! Hope this helps.

I used smugmug for about a year, it was okay but the customization through CSS is a pain the ass. I've now been on zenfolio for a couple years and couldn't be happier, my entire site is hosted there (homepage, blog and galleries) http://www.davidkinghamphotography.com/ it is by far the easiest to use for the non-technically inclined, I'm actually quite technically inclined but I hate wasting my time maintaining my site when I could be taking pictures. I've used Zenfolio for several years and can't say enough good about it. Brought up my Website in a day. They continue to make improvements to it and have great customer support. Sign on and try the Trial Version its free and very user friendly. You can click onto my website Treelinephotos.com and see at least one version of it. Best wishes with your endeavor.

I've used Smugmug for several years and have been pleased. I'm now to the point where I want to spiff up my site, but haven't felt like taking the time to learn how to do it through Smugmug. It seems too complicated for me. Hell, just putting a banner at the top of my site was complicated enough! If you just want to display your work in a simple way, it's a good site. If you want more customization, it could take time to learn, though the customer service folks are very responsive.
