I really like the position of these 2 cranes and their partial reflections. It looks like a back-lite dance number

Nice pose and reflection but I think the fact that their sides facing the camera are in shadow doesn't make them pop enough.

I agree this is a nice pose. I don't think the addition of the partial reflection adds much to the image. I want to see a tighter crop on the cranes. Maybe more contrast too. The birds are already on the dark side, what would happen if you darkened them up a little more but also lightened the outline of sun on their necks and wings?

Thanks Scott and Joshua for the comments. I will play the the ideas you both presented and see what happens. If any really results happen, I will post an update here. Thanks the feedback is always welcome.

looks good to me--id just crop a bit off the bottom. Nice! :wavey:

This is a great capture with a lot of potential. One big problem is that it's quite underexposed (see your histogram).
A Levels adjustment makes all the difference in the world, as does cropping the OOF bottom to the middle of the gravel bar.
I'd love to see this reposted after you made those very basic corrections.

John pointed out the hefty uderexposure that needs correction. I would convert to B&W, and some midtone contrast, give it a slight CW rotation so the lines in the water are level, and crop off the bottom right at the tail reflection of the left crane. I do like the backlighting across the feathers and thinks this would make a nice B&W.
