Oak Creek Canyon Snow
The Flagstaff area received aboput 18" of snow Thursday night through Saturday. Sunday morning I wanted to go to West Fork to get a winter shot of the first pool with the colorful rock overhang, but the view from overlook at the canyon head made me pull over.

I have enjoyed the telephoto for landscapes, so attached the 70-300. I have reduced some of the blue of the shadows and have blended the sunlit area back in, with this and also the first image. I purposely went a little darker and with more contrast with this #2 image. I see that it needs a slight CW rotation by looking at the trees.

#4 Red Barn Too
I stopped before sunrise to shoot the red barn again with the soft light and the light clouds illuminated.

Thanks in advance for your critiques and comments.

Wow Doug, those all are very good photos. I especially like #2, the shadow play along with the snow clinging to everything is just fantastic. Thank you for sharing!

Wow, very nice! I also favor #2, but I also like the red barn. I've been past it a few times, but never after a fresh snowfall.

Doug- These images are great! Right place/Right time. Best of all that snow and the rain they received in the Phoenix area should translate into a Great Wildflower season come spring.

Lovely set Doug, I really hope I am able to make multiple trips up north during the winter. I really like #2 with the layers.

These all look great, but #2 is my favorite

I can see why you pulled over, that's some sweet light. My favorite is #2 for the great light and shadow, and with the clouds moving through it has great depth as well. That's another nice version of the barn too.

Greetings from Reno (biz trip, maybe Tahoe?)

Also liking #2. The "echo" in the clouds and the nice comp framing makes this stellar!

I prefer the previous Red Barn. As nice as that layer of clouds is, the earlier version has simplier lines that really focuses on the "graphic art" of the barn against the trees.

Another vote for #2 and the red barn shot is sweet too with that color in the clouds.

Your eye for a composition is very, very good, Doug.
I like all three of the snowy mountain scenes for different reasons, although I do prefer the layered ridges of #2 over the scene in #3. And I also prefer your first version of the red barn for exactly the same reason as Karl. No nits from me. Just enjoying some fine photography!

I thought #1 was just superb. Great sense of depth and nice light.

Wow! 2 & 4 are just beautiful, Doug! 1 is nice too but i feel the balance is better in 2.
