Aww, cuteness alert was called for, Rick! You fed him, didn't you...

The DOF feels just right here. I'm thinking it might be just a tad too yellow?

Oops - just saw that second shot. That one is very nice - I like it much more than the first even if the first one is cuter. Doesn't seem too yellow either...

thanks Geoff, for your comments. I'll adjust the color better for my website. It took me 10 minutes to process these 3

Rick,
I like the first one best. It looks the msharpest and most natural.

I like the hideous look of the chipmunk in the second pic.

I really like the first one. Excellent composition. BTW it is not a chipmonk, it's a Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel. They have more character than chipmonks. You can tell the difference by the four black stripes on the chipmonk's back vs. two on the ground squirrel.

After Craig's correction on the id I had to go check it out (habit from my wildlife bio major days, I guess). Craig was indeed correct but with one minor correction - it seems the stripes on the back are not the difference as those are about the same. The big difference is that chipmunks have the facial stripes similar to what you see on the back here and the Ground Squirrel does not have the facial stripes at all.
