Courting Blue-Footed Boobies

Another from my recent Galapagos Islands trip. Thse guys are a riot - the male prances around the female for hours, lifting his blue feet to show them off.

So there is are red footed boobies and blue footed boobies, eh? Do they get along?

Yup, there are red-footed and blue-footed boobies. They do not intermingle, anbd are pretty much isolated on different arreas of different islands of the Galapagos. The red ones have multicolor faces - I'll post one of these next - actually one is recently posted in the Avian forum already. There is a third kind as well - the Nazca booby, which is less colorful but still extremely interesting in their courting/mating/nesting behavior. I'l get some of each up, plus all the other critters, as i can. Too many critters, too little time! Sandy,

Very nice work Sandy! I'm wanting to see this image with both the male and female in the shot. More of an interaction kind of image.
