If you want to practice flight photography at Bempton cliffs there's a constant stream of ganets, puffins, herring gulls etc flying by. Some are quite close so a 300mm could be OK.

Cheers

Great photo, Tim - and it sure sounds like a great place. The tailfeathers here makes the photo really dynamic :toast:

Stunning image Tim - I love the way you have framed this.

I visited last year but didn't get anything that approaches this I found the 300 just a little limiting

Hi Tim

Great flight shot :toast:

I like gannets, for me they are very photogenic and attractive with great colour. You have captured the colour perfectly here, pin sharp with excellent eye contact. Great stuff.

cheers

Great head-on flight shot Tim. The gannet turning its head slightly has really added to the image. Do you have any shot with a 300mm as I see this is with an 800mm! Just give me some hope that when I go I can get something similar with my teeny-tiny 300  Can you recommend any particular vantage points along the cliffs? I'll be going there soon for the first time...

Hi Elliott,
They do get get close to on lookers at the cliffs edge so I can see a 300mm being adequate, last year I used a 50-500mm along with the 800mm to take pics with success. As for locality my route is go down to the edge from the RSPB centre and go left for a few hundred yards (not forward).
