ID help again
Thanks for the help on the last bird image I posted.
It stands two for the Tennessee Warbler and two the warbling Vireo.
Can anyone brake this tie?

New ID for this post. Is this the same bird? What kind of thrush is it? Magee Marsh Ohio in May

Thanks for all the wonderful help you all give on this sight and
Happy New Year everyone
Joe

Date taken and location?

Too small for a thrush. I missed the previous post, but might go with some kind of wren or maybe the vireo......just a guess in a hurry. (-:

Have a safe and Happy New Year.

It is a Thrush. In May it is easily confused between Hermit or Swainson's Thrush. Hermit has strong whitish eyering, reddish brown back and tail and often raises his/her tail. Swainson's has more buffy eyering and more buffy on the side of chest. So, I think both of them are Hermit Thrush.

looks like two different birds, second photo looks like a Swainsons Thrush, not sure what the first one is.

Two different birds. Both are thrushes, although the first one looks more white than any thrush I'm accustomed seeing. I'm for Swainson's Thrush on the second bird - if we could see the tail we'd know for sure if this was a Hermit THrush.

I'll second Rich's comments. They're certainly both thrushes. The first bird is a little confusing, it is so weakly spotted with a very white belly and flanks that I'm wondering about Veery, but I have no experience with the species and don't know if they can ever be this brown. I think the second bird, like Rich says, looks good for Swainson's, it shows a spectacled look and the spots don't look dark enough for Hermit.

I agree the second is a Swainson's Thrush. I'm a bit baffled by the first. That's a lot of white chest on a thrush. I suppose a Veery by elimination and the partial eye ring. But, like Brian, I have very limited experience with the species.
