No doubt about it...B&H is top of the line. One of the best companies I've ever dealt with

I can always find what I'm looking for on B&H even if it is only online. As much as I would love to test everything out before I buy, I have bought numerous items from them and all have worked flawlessly. Their customer service is the best I have ever seen from a company, and they follow up to make sure your gear is working (at least they have for me a few times). My brother works at best buy, and is always asking me about the cameras he sells, and from my experience with best buy, I can never ever find what I am looking for. Too bad there aren't more stores like B&H.

Best Buy could definitely spend a penny on employee training. Some of the frustrating experiences I have had this season were created by Best Buy employees who provided wrong answers not on product but on service - such as local inventory or even if they carried an item. Instead of saying "Let me check or find it for you", they gave a blow-off answer like "not all Best Buys are the same". Sure, but tell me which one does! They are making Fry's Electronics look good.
Other than lame shipping packing material (one bubble in a large box - Adorama is just as bad), never had an issue with either camera store. They do seem interested in customer service.
Having worked for Best Buy and left at the height of their power in 2006 I can attest that they are where they should be. I predicted this downfall in '06 based on poor wages, poor training and a lack of care about employee satisfaction and welfare. Turnover was high as profits were the main company concern as it is with most retail chains. I can also attest the fall of brick and mortar electronic retailers to customers as well, demands/rudeness have increased as well stores being used as tests of products to be purchased online. One of the reasons B&H does well there setup: a large online warehouse retailer with decent prices that also happens to have 1 physical location. Low overhead and high volumes.

B and H is the ticket. Best Buy is pretty much a never-was.
