This was my first year as a full time photographer and it's been quite a ride. I spent most of the year trying to find my direction, how I could make a living with photography and still enjoy the craft. I think I've finally figured out my path and am very excited for 2013.
Your total "lifestyle" change is truly remarkable. I can relate on minor comparative scale as I have made serious changes regarding my health choices. My 35 lbs shed, particulary at an older age than you, has proven a god-send to enhancing energy and reduction of health-related issues. Frankly, the weight loss was not all that hard once one gets rid of sugars and processed foods. To this day, though. getting rid of chocolate has been a constant struggle.
Moving to Northern Colorado and being around so many health conscience folk has been an inspiration. Of course the one disadvantage of the Fort Collins area is the ready accessibility to great beer. So I also applaud you willingness to give up fermented beverage
Back to photography, I have to say your abilities are quite impressive for a relative newbie at the professional level. Your talent with night photography is particularly good and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Cheers...
Nice work David! I know you say they are in no particular order, but those first two are Sweet! Glad you have made the personal changes that are making your life better. Here is to more adventures in 2013!

Thanks Ken, congrats on the changes you've made, it's a great accomplishment! I battle with chocolate too haha, I stick to 90% though when I indulge, which for the most part is fairly good for you as long as you don't overdo it (easier said than done). It has been hard to give up the microbrews, I particularly miss St. Lupuline, but life goes on
Randy, I've had a great time with you this year, I'm looking forward to some epic backpacking again!

Wonderful images David, what a great year! My favorites are the sunflower image and the Perseid's Meteor Shower shot.

Dave, dude your stuff has really improved oin 2012. Your Sneffles shot is one I would have voted for in the fall contest if you would have submitted that darn image! Love your story and thanks for sharing.
Lastly, I'm doing some serious research for a week long trip to the Wind Rivers this July. Let me know if you're interested.

Very inspiring words and inspiring images, David! Thanks so much for helping others in achieving their very best. That's quite an inspiring act in itself.

These are amazing David! The light on the Blue Lakes Pass photo is ridiculously awesome, plains lightning is just plain scary and the Snowy Range meteors is one of the best images I've ever seen of a shower. The Boston Mine photo is quite creative too!
