Seems to be all the rage now, everyone has a "Best of 2012," or "My Top 12 of '12" list going. I'm no different and I know many of you have one as well.
Please feel free to post a LINK to your best or favorite images for 2012.
PLEASE DO NOT use this thread to post your favorite images, otherwise this thread would get messy real quick. And please limit these links to images of just your best, not just a link to your site. The intent is to put together a specific set of images; your best or your favorites for 2012
If you don't have a Blog or a Website, feel free to post to a Flikr, Picasa or other online web album. Again, link only please.
If you not familiar with posting a link, after opening the "Post a topic" link, there is a link on the left side called "Text Style Menu" that includes instructions on how to post a link.
Truly a super collection here, Lon. Can only comment on the excellent quality as well as a nice selection of overall variety in scenes to be shared and to reflect back on from this previous year.
Sorry I cannot join in on the posting of a link to any images. I've got nothing setup and I'm extremely busy with all around life items to tackle it right now. It's still an excellent idea and hopefully others will be able to join in with their own collection for us to view.

Here's a link to my Gallery of some of my favorites from 2012 (ten shots).
lon, you've got twelve great images there despite the issues that slowed the beginning of 2012 for you. i'm already looking forward to your results from 2013 - and to that end wonder what your photographic goals for the year might be (following on from eva's thread).
for me, i'll be posting a link to a pdf with images from 2012 once I have developed and scanned the last handful of films from 2012 ...
all the best for 2013, stuart

Great idea Lon - I'm struck by the beauty I've witnessed so far in the links and hope many more post a link. I guess I'm one of the few who hasn't made up a "best of" list for 2012, but I'm certainly enjoying those of you who have!

Wonderful images Kieth. The hummer images are awesome and I just love the waterfall with the person in it - very well done!
Jim, thanks for sharing your favorits too, no need to be intimidated! Excellent wildlife images - my favorites though are the more pictorial wildlife images of #1 and #2.
Phil, thanks for contributing to the list. What a beautiful and diverse set of images. Looks like you had a great and productive year. "Symphony of Light" and "Natural abstract" are my favorites.
Thanks folks for playing along. I know there's more out there too!

Thanks Stuart!
wonder what your photographic goals for the year might be
Actually, I haven't set any goals for myself as far as photography goes. Just want to get out there, enjoy the beauty and experience nature and just try and capture it on film. Not too lofty I don't think.
Have fun out there and enjoy your work everyone.

Eight taken in Scotland and five taken in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. All but three are film..... Can ya tell which they are?
Also thought I would share my Scotland Slide Show with Music (Celtic of course!) Scotland.
I am still going through everyone's top 10 or 12 for 20012 and will comment shortly.
Hey Stuart - I do look forward to your PDF again.... great stuff.

This is a great topic. Some awesome work linked to this thread. I don't typically do the "best of..." thing but this made me go through the excercise. Though I'm badly outclassed in this company I'm also shameless enough to play.
One thing about going through the thought process to come up with my twelve favorite images, I guess it is a statement of what I really enjoy shooting. Probably like most of you, my favorites are rarely my best in other peoples' eyes. So when you see my selection, it's pretty obvious, I love shooting bald eagles, moving water, and my most recent passion, dog sports (and my own dog). Here's the link.
My "faves of" series is posted on RMNP as well as many other's from that forum. Thanks for clicking over and having a look.

Thanks everyone! Keep it going, there is so much great photography out there!
Eva - It was so great to review your portfolio in one space. Your seascapes are done so well, evocative. My favorites though from your selections would be the "Oak Woods," "Rivers" and the "Durness Sunrise" is spectacular.
Dan, thanks for participating. Your animal/action photography is outstanding. The eagle portraits are amazing. Fantastic work.
Kurt, I was hoping you would see this after seeing your recent Landscape post, which is awesome. You've got a gorgeous portfolio of images from this past year. My favs are "Shaken, Not Stirred." (great title btw!) and "Moon Branches."
Hey Morris, I see you and some of your RMNP coherts are doing the same thing. How about sharing the love? I'm sure the rest of NPN would like to see those too. Maybe you can get some to post here. You can just post the link to the RMNP post and that would be fine.

I knew there were a few of you who had "best of's" .... don't be shy folks, post yours.
Doug - thanks for sharing, what a beautiful portfolio. Can't go wrong with the "Window through the Aspens" and the White Pocket image is beautiful. All the images are a wonderful collection.
Angela, no need to be shy or ashamed what so ever - but the notion that you posted your link tells me you're just a little bit proud - and AS WELL YOU SHOULD BE! I especially liked "Horsethief Ranch" as well as "Washer woman" and "Mesa Aspens." thanks for sharing and jumping in.
Richard, outstanding avian photography, but I posted a comment on your blog that the "Desert Bloom" was my favorite.
Bret, almost impossible to choose a favorite from your 2012 Review, I love them all. If I had to choose, "Fallen Oak Leaves," and "Winter Aspens II' would be my favorites; wait, scratch that, they're all my favorites - especially the last image of your son, that's precious!
Man, there are so many exceptional photographic works out there. We'll get to top off the year on Saturday when Jim releases the annual picks. Oops, was I suppose to say that?

I'm very happy with the collection of high key Orchid portraits I put together in last couple of months. Most of them have been posted in NPN's Flora Gallery. Two of them even won NPN Weekly Picks - everybody already knows the editor and moderators have terrible taste. There are a few that won't make my permanent collection and I have a couple more to post.
Thanks for starting this thread Lon. You definitely have a nice portfolio for 2012 in spite of not being able to get out much.
I just finished putting my favorites of 2012 up on my blog and you can see them HERE
All of them have been posted here in NPN during the year and could be seen in my gallery which BTW was chosen as the Gallery Of The Month for January. A nice surprise that I was not expecting.

The year didn't go quite as planned or hoped for. But, a thank you is due to Jack Brauer, Darren Kilgore and John Mumaw for information and recommendations that made my fall Colorado - Utah trip a success. Thank you, Jack, Darren, and John. And, thanks to Lon for inviting us to post our favorites/best here.

Thanks everyone for playing along.
Scott, beautiful and diverse set of images. That "Iridescent clouds" image is just phenomenal. If you didn't have cloud in the title I'd be hard pressed to figure that one out. "Sunbursts" is also awesome. All of them, excellent. thanks for posting.
David, wonderful images from the American West. Those meteor images are KILLER!
Mark, thank you for sharing your Orchid images, they are all beautiful. I tried that once with the 4x5 - and will absolutely no experience or knowledge about lighting, I just wasted film... ;-) Great work.
Youssef, you know I love your Yosemite work and it was great meandering El Cap Meadow with you last November. My favorites are "Anchored" and "In the Cathedral," but they are all great. I posted a comment on your blog. Thanks for posting here.
Doug, thanks for participating! What fantastic collection of landscapes! They are all wonderful. "Independence Pass Aspens" just might be my favorite. Very sorry for the lose of Sam. Beautiful dog and no doubt a wonderful companion.
Thanks everyone for joining in. Any more 'Best of's' out there?

I seem to be a bit late to the party - work and all ;). There are a lot of really great collections, looks like 2012 was a great year for most people... Anyways here is my collection of "Top of 2012" JCP Top 12

Better late than never! Beautiful set of images Jeremy, thanks for posting. I particularly liked the last image in the set, "A Touch of Pink," and also the crescent moon in "Burns by Moonlight" really is the icing on the cake for that one. Excellent work.
Just in case anyone ever re-visits this thread, I have finally put together a pdf of a selection of images from 2012: this can be downloaded by following this link
I've thoroughly enjoyed the links here. Well done everyone!!
