Barn Swallow
Taken at a local farm where the Swallows appear to have returned in very good numbers - this one was building it's nest inside this outbuilding!

Oh yes!
I like the window frame position.
The back of the head blends into the background a bit but I don't think that’s a problem.

Beautiful birds that don’t seem to get much photographic coverage….and I can see why having tried myself.

Hi David
very good exposure and the framing is good.

Hi David

I like the use of the iron framework, it adds context to the shot (i.e. the barn) and also some aesthetic qualities to the image. Nice colours in the bird, very good exposure, although the head does blend into the background a bit. A minor nit though, still a fine shot.

cheers

A couple of (very) minor nits: maybe bring the head back a little with selective use of levels and clone out the cob web below and glass in bottom left. I think this would make the image really, very clean and even more bold. I really like it with the ironwork, it adds quite an urban feel to it. I think this image really shows off their amazing iridescent plumage, great to see.

Hi David,

Beauty of a bird, like the use of the ironwork as a frame, as noted the rear of the head is getting slightly lost, might be tempted to crop to the outside edge of the frame, and a touch of the left.
