Inspiration is with us all the time. What inspires you and your creative process? For me it can something as small as a drop of rain on a leaf that I'll photograph for an hour. What inspires you?

I have to say I am inspired by the work of others. Bill Dark, Tom Kennon, Ed Cooley, and Tim Ernst to name a few. I aspire to produce the same quality some day. My own inspiration usually begins after I download an image, and then look at the possibilities. Sometimes the real creativity starts with the keyboard or the mouse. :)

It's interesting that your inspiration starts when you get the image on a display. For me I can wonder around with out taking a single image until something strikes me or I get a flash of inspiration about a scene. I will agree with you everyone you mentioned are great models to study. Thanks for the interesting comment Jan.

I think for me it begins with having a passion for the landscape and the beauty of creation. The opportunity to witness the beauty of a grand sunset or an intimate scene is what fuels me.

Having said that it is interesting how sometimes one can lose sight of that and start to think that photography is all about gear or technique or a myriad of other things. I think it is important to keep a fresh perspective and never to lose sight of what for me at least captured my imagination in the first place.

I llike the way you put that Brian. That pretty much sums up how I feel too. Thanks for sharing!

A big sunset inspires me to want to be out in the field. Being out photographing one makes me smile.
