Hopefully the start of my buzzard campaign, just pray for snow. Was not expecting them to come down as we only had a couple of days of covered fields. It was very dark and I wanted to reflect this in the shot, taken yesterday.

Slight crop. 1DIV, 500 f4.

Hi Neil it may look great I don't know as there is no image, but just in case, it's a fine image well done.

Phil.

If there is no change to posting 1024px in the future this will be my last season here.

Hi Neil, looks like the light was pretty flat, but conveys the setting, lucky to get so close.

Just find the 'ghostly' deer a bit distracting

If the deet is the only distraction then I can live with it :jump: Cheers.

Well, one could pick up on the 'horizon' partially going through the head. :jump:

Yup. I only gave it a couple of hours as my perches were not ready, the bait was on a log as I wanted to elevate it from being covered by snow while I am not there...was not expecting to be shooting them honestly and the other 2 landed right on the meat! So some work was done but they did not return yesterday, I was stuck with GSWs  .

I agree with Steve about the 'horizon', but it looks like a good start to the project. You don't give exposure details, but I am guessing that a slightly greater over-exposure than what the camera says would help bring out detail in the bird.
