Sorry for the delay posting this--been going crazy dealing with buggy Windows 8 while trying to polish off the mixing of my new music project. This was taken about 40 min after sunset last week, a 30s exposure at ISO 800. I saw this wave cloud form over Herard and I knew it would make a cool long exposure! Will post a color version soon, probably in the Landscape gallery.

Wow... thats going to take some time to get my mind around. Thinking Zen Garden or something when I look at that.
Windows 8... well the secret I learned was to immediately find a third party Start Menu. Then I was able to live with it - and there are some very nice improvements. Still, I would not be surprised to find bugs. I have been ok so far with the art tools - PS, LR, NIK, DxO. I got BFD2 (percussion samples) to install still, so maybe I'll find some issues with the music stuff.

I like this Stan! It does have that old Ansel feel to it. That long exposure seems to have worked well. Too bad you needed ISO 800 for it, as it added some noise, but I like it.
Hi Stan, the image has a nice contrasty feel to it. Long exposure and black and white processing are great ideas. The noise issue doesn’t bother me for the most part, however in a larger file, it may need to be addressed. Lastly I would have preferred a more zoomed in focal length accentuating the mountain, the cloud above the mountain and the foreground dunes. Currently I don't think you're getting enough credit for the snow covered dunes.

Neat. Almost looks like a moonscape (with a wave cloud). The balance of shadow and highlights worked well here, even when the dark conditions needed a high ISO and long exposure.

What a super cool cloud to mimic the smooth sand waves below! Well done!

Thanks guys,
I should note that if there is any noise its from the conversion cause 800 is pretty clean. 1600 is a different story....
I do like the B&W better. ISO 800 should not be a problem with proper exposure. Not sure what the bright spot above left of the peak is maybe a star as you said there were some, but doesn't have the look. Not a dust spot - UFO The snow covered dunes pop with this.

I like the comp and the conversion, but it looks a little flat to me.
