Twisted Forest
On our southern Utah trip last fall we spent a few hours mid-morning at the Twisted Forest--a grove of ancient Bristlecone Pines above Brian Head and east of Cedar City. With so much to shoot in southern Utah this is never going to be a destination for many photographers but if you are in the area and have some time it is worth stopping for a few hours. It is closse to Cedar Breaks National Monument. I didn't get the shot I was looking for but it was fun trying. It is on a steep hillside and the footing can be a little iffy. It is certainly a fascinating place.

Gnarly, and the twists reveal a rough life. I can envision some twilight and star photography here.

Impressive bristlecone ! I've not heard of the Twisted Forest. I'll have to make plans for a side trip on my next Zion visit.

Now there's a tree with some character. I know the Cedar City area has some riches around it that few explore fully. It's an area I need to spend some more time in. Thanks for this reminder!
