Windy Grass Oklahoma
On a trip to Oklahoma a few years ago I was able to visit Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge just outside of Cherokee, Ok. This photograph was taken in September, the grass was still showing some green but was beginning to turn a golden brown. The coloring is what attracted me to make this image. The wind always seems to be blowing in this part of Oklahoma, this day was no different, the wind gave the grass some interesting motion. Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome.
Canon 10D 75-300 lens F/32, 1/30sec ISO200 bean bag on window of car.

Some info on the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge:
The Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is part of the United States system of National Wildlife Refuges. It is located in Alfalfa County in northern Oklahoma, north of Jet , OK along Great Salt Plains Lake, which is formed by a dam on the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River.
The refuge was established March 26, 1930 by executive order of President Herbert Hoover and contains 32,080 acres (130 km2) of protected land as habitat to approximately 312 species of birds and 30 species of mammals. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in June 1983

I posted this image in the Floral Gallery along with a larger file. You can see the detail in the grass much better in the larger file.

I like this example of seasons in transition Dave, with its green & gold grasses and wind blown diagonals. Nice job.

Lots you can do with this. I wonder what black and white or the Orton effect would do for it?

Hey Darren, great ideas I'll see what I can do and repost. Thanks for the suggestions!

Nice eye in seeing this, David. I think Darren's suggestions would be worth a try too.
