The Arkansas River in central Kansas has been mostly dry due to a lack of rain. There are finally a few pools starting to fill in. A few shallow riffles are also running, and I captured one small area of one of them last weekend. I added the oil paint filter during processing, then reduced its intensity. I have always been intrigued by the riffles, but haven't had much luck capturing images until I got a set of Polaroid extension tubes this fall. These turn my 70-300mm into a decent macro lens. 7D, ISO 400, 1/25, f/11, 124mm with extension tube, polarizer.

Hi Rob, I like the patterns of the rock and the ripples of water. Nice one thanks for sharing.

Rob, you did a fine job of capturing the light, water and rocks. This type of shot always has much to offer.

Like the color and effect. It actually reminds me of what a high end hotel would put in the lobby as a waterfall.

Rob,
Great composition. The contrasting color of the small rocks in the top V of the photo serve as a good counter point the the large and lighter rock in bottom right.
Good Job.

Great color, Rob. I'm glad to hear that some water is starting to flow again. Maybe that means the drought is going to end soon.

Shots like this are fun to play with because no two are ever the same. Nice one you got here, Rob.
