Saw an ad for this. Anyone know about it?

Looks like an app that turns your phone into an intervalometer

I've had it for about 6 months now. I use it for some projects or just as a cable release. It's easy to use, has tons of options, and is a great backup to regular intervalometer. The only downside is if you use it for long projects, such as star trails, it will drain your phone battery quicker than normal, and you can't play on your phone. I've also used it with my iPad.

I'm intrigued by it. Seems cheap enough if you already have a compatible device to plug it into.

There's a good review of the TriggerTrap and other camera control devices along with a device comparison chart over at Star Circle Academy.

I ordered the dongle and cable for my camera from Amazon. Funny thing: If I wanted to order the kit with both parts, it was $30. I ordered the dongle and cable separately (from two different Amazon suppliers) for a total cost of $22. And they will get here at the same time.

Jason, thanks for some insight. John, thanks for the link. Bob, thanks for the tip. Might have to get one of these things before the Spring Fling.

The CamRanger is probably the best option out there right now, albeit quite expensive. I was out shooting with Scott Jarvie and he loved it, only complaint was the range wasn't as far as he'd like. It was pretty sweet when he was doing light painting away from the camera, reviewed the shot on his iPhone, changed settings and took another exposure.
