I often pass this meadow and large tree while driving between Auburn and Enumclaw, WA...but not often is there a good layer of fog. Fog masks nearby housing which detracts from most comps. Today I had my gear and decided to tromp through the wet pasture for this shot.
A small rope was hanging from a branch on the left side, thus the title.
...hmmm.... this version is a bit drab in branching details...It is hard to downsize and balance sharpening for the web.

I like the feel of this Ken. I think your plan to wait for a foggy condition to hide the homes worked out very well and the varying degrees of lightness in the fog helps to highlight this crusty old oak (I believe.) Well captured!
Looks great to me! I enjoy the disruption in symmetry caused by the broken branch. Also love the mood created by the fog and muted color. Well worth wet feet to get this one. And KUDOS for having your gear with you!

Thanks Catherine...Joe and Craig.
Catherine's mention of the broken limb....I was frustrated by it. That ice-storn last year...left a lot of trees weeping ...
