Spent the day up in Oak creek canyon and Sedona first shooting the west fork trail. I spent almost four hours in just this one spot, hoping the snow would let up for a few moments until realizing there was never going to be a break. This first image is a pano of six vertical frames. Later on in the day I met up with Doug K and braved some more snow in hopes for a dramatic sunset which never happened (although there was some nice light at the very end just in the wrong spot). Here are a few that I thought were keepers.

#2 Another shot from the same area

#3 I heard a few loud crashing sounds behind me as I was shooting the first two scenes, so I went to investigate. The snow kept pushing the drifts over the ridges creating these neat snow falls.

#4 And the would be sunset location. I'm still pretty happy with this shot despite the lack of colorful oranges and pinks we were hoping to have in the sky above.

Looks like you had a productive day. I like these as they show a side of Arizona that is not often seen. The snow falls are very interesting. #4 is probably my favorite, though. Even without dramatic sunset light I still like the color contrast between the warm red rock and the cool tones in the sky.

Nice series Peter. I think I like the low perspective of #2, but #4 keeps pulling me towards it with the rich colors and as Brian stated the contrast between the rocks and sky.

I'm quite partial to #1. A very nice scene indeed. Unfortunately, the light was not your friend on this day, so as nice as these are, they don't quite measure up to what is rapidly becoming your very, very fine portfolio of Arizona images.

A nice series. I like #4 the best, and I also like the "snowfall" shot.

Thanks guys.
John, there was no light as it snowed the entire day while I was up there. thick cloud cover all until sunset when just the teeniest bit of light filtered through.

I really like the color contrast in #4. A unique shot from that area.

Peter, preference given to 2&4. I like the low angle with the snow capped rocks in 2, and the shapes of, and lichen on, the foreground rocks in 4.

My thoughts mirror Doug's. It's too bad the light never happened, but it's still a nice collection of images.
