Thought I would try this large image feature as I haven't before. I put the vertical of this image up on the landscape gallery. I have had some trouble with sharpening my images lately. How does it look and do you have any tips for web sharpening?

Oooh, I much prefer this to the vertical that you posted. Just more light and scenery to savor, I reckon. And especially mo' reflection! The only thing lost here was a bit of sky.
This is a tough one to judge for sharpness, but the roughed out snow in the foreground and the trees that poke into the sky look nice and crisp to me. Love the color contrast shown in the reflection and just the allaround beauty of the place.
That fellow in the landscape gallery is right re: ISO 50. It's an extrapolated (i.e. 'fake') ISO and suffers for it.

Dean, there's nothing I can recommend to better this spectacular image from Yellowstone. Wait...a few tiny dust specks on your sensor in the snow on the right. Sharpness looks very nice. And great job handling those highlight hot spots in the colorful clouds.
Beautiful winter image Dean! I'm contemplating spending a day or two in Yellowstone this winter. Recommendations for best/cheapest access coming from the south? I might be in the Jackson area but I can also drive to the west entrance. I was thinking snowshoeing but I'm open to renting cross country skis.

Thanks for the comments guys. John, I didn't know iso 50 was extrapolated, that's good to know. Kane, I see the spots. Thanks for pointing that out.
Jason, I'm not sure how far they plow the road to the south entrance from the junction near Oxbow Bend or Jackson Lake Lodge? There is quite a distance from the lodge to Yellowstone. I'm going to say 30 miles maybe. From the west entrance its all snowmobile or snow coach. It will take you 10 or 15 miles before you get into any nice scenery. Before that it is all forest.
Unless you're willing to rent a snowmobile I would come in at the north entrance at Gardiner. I know it is a long way around but you have easy access to Mammoth Hot Springs and you can drive to Cooke City with most of the road in the park. You have plenty of jumping off points and plenty of nice scenery and wildlife.

Real nice, Dean--yeah much better than the vertical!
Jason--i got a snowcoach from W Yellowstone to Old Faithful for only $52 round trip, and its only about 10 more from Moran i believe.
