I don't have any experience with that particular lens, but I recently picked up a Bower/Rokinon/Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens on a sale special at B&H to use for 'starscapes', and the quality is nothing short of amazing for the price. Forum member and night photographer David Kingham offers praise for the lens in his blog post titled 'Prime Time!-Lenses for Night Photography'. Seems to be an exceptionally good price for that particular lens.

It's a great lens for night photography, no coma. Just took this shot with it Saturday morning. It works well for landscapes too, is a bit sharper than my 24-70

My experience with the Canon version of this lens hasn't been good. I just sent my 2nd copy back to B&H. The corners on both were horrible and both showed severe coma, which you don't want in star shots. Having said that, I am trying again. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm. I also have the 14mm, and although my first copy wasn't good, the 2nd was, and I'm very happy with it. As John said, it's amazing for the price.

I should note that my first copy of the 14mm lens was soft on the left side. I returned it and got a good one the second time.
