500mm f7.1 1/250

Hi all

A young kingfisher from the tail-end of last summer who took up residence in one of the dykes a few yards from my house. At the time I was working with hares and didn't want to divide my time up with two projects so left it alone. When I'd finished with the hares I turned to the kingfisher and had just two days with it before the heavens opened and the dyke became a torrent and the bird moved on!! I remember swearing a lot at the time

Simon

(Cue all the 'too big in frame for my tastes' comments!!!)

This is beautiful. Hard capture and you did it so well. I like it.

Superb kingfisher, though not quite big enough in frame for my taste.

I like big in the frame Simon, works for me but would work with a little more bottom too.

Simon it really is a good shot ,is it a tad over sharpend?size in the frame is not a problem to me.
