Fir Island, WA; Feb 2006. Flying overhead, I caught these three setting up for a lazy approach. Tighten up the frame a bit, no other processing (forgot to sharpen). The servo motor in the VR really makes tracking these a pleasure. Several more to post soon.
Hi Randy - I missed this one! It looks like the light was really difficult when you took this shot and you did really well exposing for it. I like wider shots like this. One thing... if your original had a little more room on the left I might be tempted to put back in a bit more on the left as it's a bit tight on that side.
On second (and third) looks I also kind of like the way the sun is highlighting the leading edges of the wings!
Yeah, it's a hair bear tight on the left but certainly not a deal killer. You could clone a bunch of blue over there if it really bothered you.
I'm all over it though, it's pretty much the classic shot.
Sweet! What makes this work for me is the light on their wings. Beautifully done and I know how hard to get images of these guys is!! I have PLENTY of near misses to account for it....sigh.
I too agree that a little bit more room on the left would be helpful but otherwise this is very well done.
