The sentinel
D7000 500mm f4 ISO 250 1/1250s at f6.3 handheld resting on snow bank.

Liked the snow covered boulder this ptarimgan went and perched on. There is little definition of the BG due to a mist which kept rolling into the corrie. At times the AF wouldn't work due to a total lack of contrast and trying to find the subject in the viewfinder was also quite difficult at times.

BTW the lake of bg deintion is a big plus if you ask me :wavey:

Another fabulous shot, although it would be great to bring out a little more detail around the eye if possible.
