A woman from London has contacted me and requested a guide for the Aspen area in March for wildlife photography. I'm not an expert on the Aspen area. If you are and have the proper licensing and insurance I'll pass along the contact info. Email me at bobmaynardphotography@comcast.net :wavey:

If she was looking for landscape photography I'd be more than happy to offer my services but Aspen isn't a big wildlife photography area (In comparison to places like Grand Teton, Yellowstone, etc); so my knowledge of finding the wildlife there is limited. I hope someone can help.

I echo Jason's sentiments. Thomas O'Brien might be someone to talk to, he's based in Aspen. I don't have any contact info for him though.

I agree with Aspen not being a wildlife hotspot. However, if you want the Wild Life you'll see it at night downtown.:)

In March, might the big game mammals still be on their winter grounds away from Aspen?

Based on my experiences with the area, I would say that most of the big game are still in the lower valleys between Basalt and Glenwood Springs or on the back side of McClure Pass down towards Paonia & Hotchkiss. Definitely NOT a wildlife expert but happy to share what little knowledge I do have of the wildlife in the area.
