Good enough shot. Exposure's been handled nicely and subject stands out well.
Two things go against it for my taste.
First, I too think it's too tight in the frame
Second, from a marketing point of view, you'd be better having the goat on the LHS with much more of the plain background on the right for text etc.
Both these points are purely my own taste and shouldn't be taken as gospel.......I'm not god, or Moses or any of the rest of them.
The shot you see here is what i croped it to.The original is abit further away showing more of the background and more of the rocks.BUT......
In the original there is a blured object in the bottum left of the shot(you can just see it in the one above), it may be a clump of grass or something ?.Anyway that is the main reasoning for the "closer" cropping and to retain the composition(having the goat more to the right).
Nice shot, on a technical note, Alan, have a look at my recent posts, if your a premium fotopic member you can scale your images to what ever you want.
I like this image, the goat is well placed in the frame and shows the coastal environment well and gives a good sense of the goat in it's cliff top habitat. I might prefer a bit more space around the goat but a minor nit, everything like looks fine (exposure, sharpness, etc).
Brean Down is not too far from me in Swindon. Is it a good location for nature type photography? I have often thought of a trip down there to check out the shore and cliffs to see if they offer good photographic opportunities.
I like this, a shade too big in the frame but from what you say plenty of room you have room for crop options, for web presentation this is fine, would prefer the head to be looking into the image rather than partially out too, as regards the left right thing, if a picture buyer wants the animal the other side of the frame it can simply be flipped in photoshop.
Discussion
10 repliesI dont know if this goat is "classed" as a mountain goat ?.It was great watching him run around on the edge anyway

Very nice - because the habitat is so good I would have preferred the goat a little smaller in the frame!

David if the goat was abit smaller in the frame then someone would say i wish the goat was closer

I like this picture a lot. The composition the stones and the grasses plus the BG.
