I've read Darwin Wiggett's article on preparing images for posting. (Sorry I couldn't track it down to add this post to his thread)

1 question - what format is the image in at the start of his process?
I shoot in RAW, then select favourite images and sharpen/crop/adjust before saving as a JPEG so I can use them wherever I choose.

In Darwin's article he has a sharpening stage - If I have already applied a USM before saving as JPEG, will I need to sharpen again?

Hi Martin,
I think he is starting from the point where he has saved the RAW file as a tiff. You can then use that tiff each time to create a jpeg for whatever application you need it for rather than going back to the raw file. You will want to sharpen after you have downsized your image to whatever size you are going to post.
