I'm seriously considering upgrading my old Canon 5D classic. I've been comparing prices and features and have just about decided the 6D is probably the one. I have been conditioned to think that anyone selling for less than the going rate or B+H prices is risky and there may be problems with shipping, accessories, or other quality. Best as I can figure Amazon is selling the 6D for about $1890 compared to the going rate of $2099. Apparently "sold and shipped" by Amazon. In my book, $200 is nothing to sneeze at, and Amazon isn't exactly an Acme fly-by-night type of place.
Is there something I should be cautious about?

Well, I've bought a lens or two 'sold & shipped by Amazon' and had no problems at all. Their return policy is as liberal as the 'big guys' in NYC and that's what matters most to me. I would highly recommend it at those savings.

In my opinion Amazon is as good and I feel better at service and backing up their sales as any one in business. I have bought 3 or 4 bodies and 5 lens without the slightest problem. In fact back about two years ago I bought a Cannon (don't remember model) body and lens. I used it for a few months and found i was happier with my Olympus equipment so I set up an account and sold the Canon through Amazon. I sold it at about $ 125 less than I paid but felt it was a great deal to try a quality camera for months and cost only that much.

I've bought most of my gear from Amazon. That 6D right now is $1860 on there, I'd jump on it. Amazon usually comes in a bit lower than the rest, not uncommon at all. They recently had the 50mm/1.4 for $299. Their prices bounce all over the place, that 6D could be up over $2000 in a day or two, you never know with them. Strike while the price is right!

I have had no issues with Amazon. I have used Ebay as well. When I ran into an issue with an Ebay seller, Ebay backed me up 100%.

A key question that I haven't seen answered yet is warranty. Is it USA? That's often worth a couple hundred on a body from B&H.

Thanks! The responses were helpful and I went a head and ordered it. I did wonder about the warranty. There is a place on the Amazon product site where you can ask a question of those who have purchased the item. A couple answered that it was not grey market and came with the Canon USA warranty. I guess that is one advantage to a place like B+H. You can just call them up and ask. At any rate, the $240 savings is worth any small risks to me, since things sounded pretty reliable.
I expect the 6D prices may drop across the board before long, but my 5D is in for repairs and I figured it was a good time to bite the bullet.

For anyone's future reference, my camera arrived and everything seems to be in order including the Canon USA warranty. In addition, it looks like I will get a 2% buyers reward through Amazon to be used with any future purchases sold by Amazon. Since I do a fair amount of shopping on Amazon, that will be another $36 or so savings.
The 6D with the 24-105 IS f4 lens is going for $2400. An ambitious shopper could probably buy with the kit lens and sell it on eBay or elsewhere for an additional little profit.
