Hey everyone. I haven't been doing much photography lately....darn sabbatical has me writing every day. Nonetheless, I snapped a quickie off my favorite Warm Springs Road right after Christmas. Suggestions, as always, appreciated.
Too dark?
Too muted?
Too wide?
Too....

I love the solitude and simplicity of this. The warm-buttery light on Mt Hood contrasts nicely against the blueish cold white snow in foreground. You offset to account for the pine on the left...yet that tree is hidden somewhat darkly. I might try to push the color and brightness to match the prominence given to it. Nice shot!
Completely agree with Ken's assessment of this fine image! The light on the mountain and in the sky is magical; perhaps the fg snow a little flat? It is under different light than the mountain, of course, but maybe a light hand with dodging might help give a little more dimension and interest to the fg- not enough to take away from the mountain. Talkin' tweaks, here, no major nits.
Thanks, for the feedback Catherine and Ken. Not a whole lot of color to grab in the tree given the exposure. I worked on the tree and the foreground and cropped the left side to remove some stray snow spots off the distant ridge. How is this? Too much?

I like this a bunch Marylynne, although I prefer the redone, 2nd version they are both very nice in a pano format with good lighting highlighting the 'hill'!
