I got out on the lower Mulberry today to search for eagles. We must have see at least 30 eagles and counted 25 flying in one spot! These guys are pretty smart and move just out of range most of the time, but I caught this one in this photo flying over my boat just close enough to get some detail. I had to shoot this from the boat in the middle of the river. The Specs on the shot are below.
I am planning on going back and setting up camp to get closed shots.
Canon 50D
ISO 1600, F5.6
1/1250 sec
Canon 100-400 at focal length of 340
shot is cropped

Nice shots under difficult circumstances. Did you guys get snow?

Rod, we got about 5 inches of snow in Fort Smith last Wednesday, none with the latest storm.

First is my favorite. I hope to see more in the near future.

That's a good number of eagles Tom. I was hoping to add some shots of eagles to my portfolio this winter but up until the last couple of weeks it's been too warm so they weren't congregated in small spaces.
