Yep, once again.
But Fire Wave has been a convenient workshop location for me over the past couple months - driving the one hour up there any time there were decent clouds for a nice sunset shot. Some shots get reds or yellows but often just over the close ridge or small on the wide angle. Might post one of those soon. But here its just winter sun. I think a 25mm - 28mm range (edit) would be perfect, but here its an off-center cropped ZE 21mm with all those points.

Nice sunstar and it nestles into the curve well.

Yeah, VOF has enough variety to keep someone busy for years to come - almost justifies living in Vegas.
Your sunstar really makes the shot.

A fine (and unique!) view from this place. I like this one a lot, even more than your previous one.

This is the best Fire Wave shot I have seen. I've photographed it a couple springs ago and was not satisfied with my results. Ever since I started shooting digital, I tend to refrain from including the sun in the frame unless it is partially blocked by something, because of the weirdness digital adds to the roundness of the sun. Your sun is beautifully done!

Beautiful image. Been there a few times, didn't know about this "wave." Where is it exactly?
Rodney -Head up the scenic North-South oriented road past Rainbow Vista. When you get up to Gibraltor Rock near the big turn, there will be a parking area #3. Park, then cross the road on foot, follow the Carsonite signs on an easy hike for about 0.6 mile back roughly south. Note about 0.5 mile in you will encounter a slickrock hill and the carsonites kinda veer sharp right. Finally you will just stumble onto this feature over a crest. You can also access Fire Wave by parking at the Pink Canyon pullout and entering from the wash after 1/4 mile hike. Fire Wave used to be very unmarked, but now with the Carsonite signs I'm just waiting for the tour buses to arrive; fortunately I've only seen one or two others at a time on weekend sunsets so its pretty calm. There are a number of other scenic spots - of course Pink Canyon, Nike Rock (literally 50 yards north of the wash park spot to the west), Crazy Hill, and the White something or other slots. There is an excellent VOF E-Book Guide with GPS coordinates here - http://www.synnatschke.de/e-guides/store.php The Wave generally faces Southwest if that helps sun positioning and time-of-year. I'd also be careful about monsoon season (July/August), this place looks like a flash flood waiting to happen.
