Winter storm

A week ago, we had a winter storm that dropped a foot or more of snow across most of Kansas. I was able to get out in the early part of the storm, though there was still several inches of snow already, to capture this scene of a grove of trees in the blowing snow. I really like getting out to these trees during a real blizzard, like the one that hit a few days later. However, it quit snowing by lunch time that day, and I couldn't get off work early enough to get out while the snow fell and the winds howled. Still, I like the peaceful look that my photos from the first snowfall achieved.

Yes this is a nice setting to photograph in a blizzard. We've had our share of snow recently ... it was sure needed.

This is surely along a low shelter belt surrounding a stream. A true refuge from the winter wind. Very peaceful indeed.
