Yesterday I was invited to go with a friend to Monument Valley. This was my first time to visit Teardrop Arch. The skies were rather clear, but it did make for a nice earth shadow. This is a blend of two images for DOF and exposure. A larger image is provided.

Great gallery, Doug. I especially like "Tumbleweeds and the Ear of the Wind" - you're led up the sand, through the arch and into the next image.
I wasn't too impressed with Monument Valley on my first visit this past year, but it seems like I didn't see the "good" spots. Sigh, maybe later this year I'll make it down there again.
Really fine set. Doug! The bald, blue skies certainly didn't keep you from getting some good images from here.
My favorites are 'Sandlines in the Wind' (sand looks warmer in the Landscape gallery then on your site), 'Ripples' and 'Streaks & Slopes'. Of course, the Teardrop Arch shot is classic and well done here. Did you get a version with the last rays of light on the buttes (aside from the one on your site)? Did you share a tour with your friend?
Cool! They're all real nice--my fav is 'sand in the ear'.

Thanks for the feedback, all. Good observation about the sand temp. In comparing the two, I prefer the slightly warmer sand. I tried a pano crop of all the other buttes on the east side of the highway, but the detail was lacking. Another trip may warrant a pano stitch from a closer location. The sun's angle seems best in early winter to not have Eagle Mesa cast a shadow on the buttes like it is beginning to do now.
