I find I spend a lot of time just staring at the three bands of color, and losing myself in the sinuous shape of the dunes, their textures, and the mystery in those deep shadows.
Spending more time at this place is on my "must" list.
Very nice pano! I love the Sand Dunes, I grew up in Monte Vista and its one of my favorite places to go out and shoot. I know what you mean about the ridges and contours forming great shadows, it's just a magical place.
Howard, I believe you really brought out the dunes with your composition. The texture of the dunes really stands out. The only possible improvement may be adjusting the color cast. On my monitor, I believe a blue-ish cast is apparent. But to maintain those distinct bands of color, maybe just try to remove the cast from the dunes?
Great panorama with the three layers. I like it! There is indeed a slight color cast, but a quick shot of AutoColor removed it and warmed things up a touch.
I like the light and color on the dunes! I dont really care for the fg strip here--it's too contrasty and distracting. I think it works better as two layers. W/o the fg, the 'colorcast' really sint an issue IMO.

Thanks, everyone. I agree about the blue color cast. That was even after I had applied a warming filter in PS.

Nice shot. I spent a day shooting there in Dec a few years back. Boy was it cold. I had soda pop cans in the car that burst over night. I didn't get as nice a shot as yours, great idea to shoot a tele pano!
