Black Grouse
Canon EOS 7D, 600mm f4IS, 1.4x conv, RAW, bean bags on car window ledge

Hi All,

I took a trip upto Northumberland in November 2012, on an early outing I came across this handsome chap sitting in the Sun. Managed to rattle off a few frames, this being the best. Managed some nice Red Grouse shots too :).

All comments welcome

Sunshine?!?!? You timed it good - just before the miserable winter weather dropped and stayed put

Always love seeing these birds withthe smokey blacks n grays and the irridescent blue neck feathers.

Hope to catch up with you again when you're next up!

The detail in the "black" is amazing. Well done on capturing one away from the lek.
