Getting out alot earlier at the moment as I can't seem to sleep through the night for whatever reason. It has given me the chance to just wander and observe the world at a walking pace for a change.

This beautiful lady was just waking up as well

Hi Kevin

Why didn't you put your hand down and remove the FG bramble  makes a break from many of the clear shots and this is how we often see them - nice one!

I personally would have liked to see the FG brambles in focus as well for a great environmental shot. The snake's eye is perfect as is its colouring. Excellent.

never seen one of these in the wild amazing creatures. i bet there is a lot more detail in the original. It took me a moment to figure out what i was looking at I would probably crop a bit off the bottom and a bit off the right hand side to put the head on the top right hand side third.and make it appear to be peeking from behind the brambles. Cracking shot anyway :toast:

Hi Kev

I like the composition, the brambles add to the image as this is a great habitat shot. Good use of the maco flash, it is not obvious flash has been used in this shot from looking at it.

cheers

David: next time I'll take you along as head set arranger (and target lol). The fg wouldn't of been in focus even at f32 as the subject distance was only 400-500mm away and the brambles were about 200mm away. I did take some images without the flash to try to reduce the effect of the brambles but didnt get an image I really liked :( . Steward, good idea for the next trip rather than crop down the existing image.

Good habitat shot, only problem for me is that the head seems to get a little bit lost in the body, more than likely that is not so on your original.
