I saw this junco out of our bedroom window. It seemed to be injured as it kept holding its right wing extended as it moved around. If the weather had been warmer I would have thought it might be anting. But, it flew away with no apparent problem. Did seem to have a problem getting up on a short step, and once in a while it would extend its left wing.
The photo was taken with an advanced P&S through a window, the light was dull. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

One possibility is that the junco was trying to warm up by maximizing the area exposed to the sun (assuming there was some).
John, I'm thinking along the same lines that Richard is on this one. The only time I saw any bird do the wounded wing thing was to distract anything near it's nesting area. I had one do that to me in the Tetons once and thought for sure it was injured. Followed it for about 20 feet and all of a sudden it could fly with no wing dangling or walking along appearing injured. If there was no nest in the area it is probably a warming up routine.
