Viewing Focus Points

I use LR4 to catalog and process my images (on a PC). Often times when a photo is either particularly sharp or particularly unsharp, I want to check where my focus point was to see what I did right or wrong with the focus. As we cannot see focus points in LR, I then have to leave LR, open DPP and look at the photo there to see the focus point. A pretty annoying process. I have recently read of a program called "Open Directly" that is a LR plugin and will take your photo from LR and open it in any other program you want (such as DPP). It seems like this would be a good solution for me and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this program. Or have you found another solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for any information you may provide.

Hi Carol - Not using Lightroom or Canon, I don't have any direct experience. However, some searching turned up this Lightroom plug-in that can pull up metadata values that Lightroom normally won't show. (FYI I can't vouch for it since I haven't tried it at all.)

Supposedly, one of the values that can be pulled is the focus point selection, although it won't be graphical and might be just a code - i.e. it will say point "B2" or something like that. You would have to do some trial and error or find a map to know which point that actually is.

Other than that, I don't see any way to do it other than to open the file in DPP. (And I couldn't get the "Open Directly" page to work.)
