With much regret we bid farewell to John Williams in his leadership role here at PNWNP. Happily, though, he gave us a great template to follow as we go on from here, with him still in the ranks.
Please, join me in welcoming Steve Kennedy as our new Co-Moderator. Steve and I plan to continue John's legacy and Steve brings enthusiasm and commitment to do so. His skill and knowledge in photography is respected and he loves to go on outings to both share tips and learn from others.
We are both from the Seattle area, as Steve lives in Maple Valley, which is about an hour southeast of Seattle. So we hasten to reassure everyone that we both have the time and interest to travel around our region for meetings and outings and gatherings. In fact, he is already drumming up interest for a Spring Shoot. Check out his post below.
Thanks for coming aboard, Steve!

Thanks for letting me step away without worry Steve (and Catherine!), the forum is in excellent hands.

Hi everyone! Thank you for the kind wishes. I am looking forward to working with Catherine and all the members of PNWNP. We have some fantastic talent here in the northwest and more than our share of excellent places to shoot and explore.
I will do my best as a substitute for John but there’s no way I will be able to replace him. John did a great job as a PNWNP moderator. I don’t have anywhere near his photographic talent and artistry, so I suspect I will learn far more from you guys than you will from me.
As for the potential concern of our members in Oregon, I am a native Oregonian, born and raised in Portland (Go Ducks!). Both my wife and I still have family in Portland and expect to move back there some day. I welcome the opportunity to participate in gatherings the Portland area.
I guess now that I’m taking on this new role I should finally post a bio and a photo. This week I’ll take a gamble on breaking my camera and take a self-portrait to post.
As a final note, I’ll do my best to be online and post comments daily. Next week I will be in Hawaii so I probably won’t be posting much, but I will catch up when I get back. I know you will all feel sorry for me that I have to spend such a stressful week hanging out on the beaches of Maui but someone has to do it!

"Welcome Aboard" Steve! Thank you for stepping up beside Catherine as co moderators of the best forum at NPN. I have enjoyed your work and look forward in seeing more as well as your input and critiques. John and Catherine have done a great job with the vast area of the PNW and I'm sure you will fit in just fine. Don't forget the sunscreen..... it's hard to find here in the NW but they sell it in Hawaii!

Hi Steve, great having you join Catherine! And I too once lived in Oregon...but, I have to say...Go Cal. (lol....that makes no sense in the PNWest forum) Looking forward to good times, sharing, a couple photo trips and to improve along with everyone here.

And I'm expecting at least a few awesome Haleakala sunrise shots posted here when you get back...
