Thanks Neil- most people don't realise that House Mice are not that common. This young mouse had never seen a trap before and yet was in mid air when it took the cheese ! Must be in bred !!

John, I agree that most mice people see are actually wood mice, but if you think that house mice are not that common you have obviously not visited some London Underground stations! I think this is a great picture, and nicely sums up many people's experience of the species.

John

Just had to chuckle, your concern for mouse's safety was appreciated no doubt.

Great scan - look at all that tonal warmth and vast expanse of midtone - good old E6.

Proper photograph John, sadly of a style and type overlooked nowadays by everyone including me - this would sell by the bucket load as a stock image.

Good narrative image John - & shows why they're not popular in houses - if the trap didn't get it, then the electric shock or fire would! Hope you fixed the electrics afterwards!

Yes - we had to have the bathroom floor ripped out and the wiring re done. There were in fact two dead mice next to chewed wire. We ended up having to use poison which I hate and they are back up in numbers again anyway. Mainly yellow necks now.
