Finally got out after saving up some brownie points the last few weekends (Buzzard fever was not shared by everyone :o ) Some of the residents have gone (crested tits, bramblings) but I was kept entertained.

Hi Neil, love the curvature of the tail following the back, classic pose. Check your settings, it has an untagged profile. Personally would like a bit more image at the foot. BKG compliments the subject. Away again, but might try upping the black in the red channel & dropping a bit the yellow in the same colour channel????? Sharp where is counts. :toast:

Neil the Squirrel looks really good but I think i would like a bit more space around it.

Steve I realised this was untagged whilst a work, looked like a dayglo squirrel. So I toned it down in order to post it. Maybe I should be more patient ;) Did not think anyone would be looking

I have gone off popping images but some of the others with a bit of sun have more contrast. But I notice the large image pops more than the small one (WHEN WILL WE GET 1000px standard image views, gawd knows it is costong someone storage space.)

Neil FYI any comments I make are applied to the image posted, so I know that it works. just happens that when you launch the image in PS I have set it to ask, plus you can see in the data too.

1000px, in your dreams, however I do agree. Bigger images convey the image better, plus you can tell on the IQ too, 720 all images look good

Steve
Sorry but I would dispute the fact that all images look good at 720px
I've seen some pretty rough stuff at that size in the past few years. Posted plenty my self too.

Craking image Neil with lots of detail. My preference would be for more room around the squirrel but I appreciate some prefer BIF. Like the animal as posted.

Image doctoring - my God I could learn a few things here; I must stop by more often...........

Lifting "the black" in the red channel will only make the darker tones contain more red, and you can't drop "yellows" in the red channel - lifting the red channel curve at any point adds red, dropping it at any point adds CYAN by removing RED. If you want to drop "yellow" then add BLUE in the BLUE channel.

I seriously don't know why you don't make your jpegs via LR4 Neil - it saves all this potential for untagged grief

Other than the "spray tan" I think he looks great - my fave subject!

Thanks guys. Yes steve I too have a warning but I rearely re-open web images, so some get through the net after re-installing PS. Why the "embed profile" check isn't checked my default I will never know.

Andy, what is wrong with the david dickinson look....my mum thinks it is cool! :jump:

Well Neil I guess the 'Tango look' can come back into fashion, what goes around... and it's 'cheap as chips' too!

Andy FWIW I was referring to Selective colour.

Yes Neil, I know she does, but she's still on an old tube telly...

Steve - well no one would have guessed, and so how do you "up the black in the red channel" by selective colour

I've got a Syquest Spark you can have if you are rebuilding your system Neil - it comes with one of them new fangled VHS instruction tapes.
