Ok so another shot from the new D7100.
Green grass and fruit tree branches as the background.
Nikon D7100, nikon 300mm f4 at f5.6 1/640th of a sec at ISO 560.
Was going to enter this in winter photo contest but evokes to much of a spring feeling.

Very cool shot! You have enough light to bring out the iridescent colors, good focus on the face and fast enough shutter to show the wings distinctly. Well done!
I would go ahead and post it in the winter photo contest. No one has posted any yet.

Very nice photo Wade, love the head detail. I don't shoot nikon equip. but if the D7100 is a newly released camera you would think nikon would include batteries strong enough to stop wing blur!
