A couple of years ago I spent the night on the prairie in a tiny wooden structure on Bird Runner Wildlife Refuge. Hiking out in the dark the following morning I was hoping for some beautiful sunrise light and clouds. Didn't get any clouds but I still liked the play of light and shadow on the gentle rolling hills in the early morning light.

You got nice light on that hike out. I have some of those bird refuges where you can stay the night but never done so.
Wayne, this image has the Kansas praire written all over it. Makes me think of what the pioneers saw when they woke up from a night crossing the praire.
Just a great soft peaceful moment in time. The older I get the more I find in these much simpler images. Guess its cause I just want to be there.. Now.

Nice light, it looks like this was soon after a burn.Makes me anxious for the green up around here. I've seen smoke from a few prairie fires already but there's not as much to burn off this spring with two years of severe drought. Hopefully this year will be better.
Well done my friend. I really like your timing on the light. The illuminated tops of the broom sedge create a nice pattern thru the image. Beautiful Wayne.
