Crater stork
Jeroen's fabulous stork nesting shot prompted me to post this from the last day of my recent trip to Tanzania. It lacks the action of Jeroen's pic but the light was fantastic and I think that the BG of the Ngorongoro Crater rim sets the bird off nicely

A mental abhoration is my only explanation for the techs, I had been shooting pre sunrise and had not made any adjustments at all perhaps due to the large scotches the night before and lack of sleep

Thanks for your kind words, you are making me..

Lovely shot Bob and i agree the crater sets the bird off really well.
The soft light turns this in to a great image!

Nice one Bob.

As an experiment, dropping, what seems to be a heavy cast, pops it up very close to Jeroens, with whitish plumage and a rich blue BKD, but you were there so know the light

Thanks guys.

Steve, its pretty much how I remember it as the sun just started to peek over the crater rim. The whites appeared very creamy unlike Jeroen's whites under the perhaps slightly harsher European light. It is easy to neglect the white stork out on the plains of Ndutu and the Serengeti but they do stand out better in the crater with the rim as a back drop. Have a look at the white stork in my gallery and let me know what you think
