The weekend rains had the creeks and waterfalls running and the forecast for Tuesday was more rain and clouds. It sounded like the perfect day to take a day off and chase the waterfalls.
Jan's picture of Magnolia Falls had inspired me so I started my trip there and then headed to Triple Falls (aka)Twin Falls at Boy Scout Camp Orr. My final stop on my tour would be Pam's Grotto. The weather was perfect with a steady rain and temperatures in the mid 30's. I commented to my wife that I did not see anyone else out on the trails and her comment was "duh," well at least it was perfect weather for me.
Pam's Grotto seemed very mystical in the late afternoon light when I took this photograph.
A few facts for those planning on coming to the gathering. The wildflowers are really wanting to come out, if only we could get a few warm days. I saw evidence of Yellow Dogtooth lilies, Trilium ready to burst forth, Bloodroot and many more.
Often I base my trips on the Arkansas River Gauges and here are what some of the rivers were running yesterday. Buffalo 3.0 feet, The Mulberry 3.8 feet, The Big Piney 2.7 feet, Richland Creek 2.5 feet. This is good water for medium waterfall flow.
Thanks Tom! Seeing all this water makes me want to head to the hills too!

Those look great. Love the "Duh" comment in the story and your response of a great day for you. Spoken like a true photographer.

Nice Tom, one and all. Of the three I've only seen the Triple Falls. The other two look very nice indeed so I'd love to see and photograph them one day. Thanks for sharing.

Super job. I am glad you got out. Pam's is almost always going to be my favorite. I agree there is something mystical going on there.
Looks like you had a grand day for photographing waterfalls, Tom. All are nice, but will be looking even nicer once we get a little more color in the landscape. I can't believe how late everything is this year! The redbuds are usually putting on a show by now, with dogwoods not far behind. Thanks for the wildflower report. I suspect Lost Valley will be a popular place next weekend.
Thanks for all the great comments. Bill I think we are going to have good water and with the recent warm days the redbuds and wildflowers should be nice for the gathering this coming weekend.
