I had some very colorful Dallas Creek/Mt Sneffels photos from last Fall, but the colors weren't doing it for me. Too much confusion between the greens, yellows and magentas. I like how Lightroom gives me a lot of control for mapping the colors to black and white. This 3x1 pano was came from four shots. 50mm lens.
Nice panoramic scene, but this may be a case where the color version may be more attractive.
B&W isn't really doing a thing for me here.

Great panoramic image, I like your comp, but for me there isn't really anything popping on the screen in B&W. It may just be that you were there at a time where there wasn't good light and lackluster weather. I've been there several times and I never had the great clouds/conditions/light that makes an image really sing.

Sweet pano composition, but having been there in the Fall, I find it difficult to appreciate a BW interpretation.

Tom I, too, think this panoramic comp is good, but I think if you play with some dodging and burning and contrast. Like deepening the sky and making the whites in the trees pop more it would be more dramatic and pleasing to the eye.
The image is a nice contrasty scene that is well composed, no doubt, but I long for the color version. Most people love color and I'm one of them. And The Sneffles Divide in Fall is easily one of the most colorful scenes I know of.

Here is one color frame from the pano. Thanks for the comments and suggestions, which I can take back to my Lightroom.
Yes, I have some awesome color shots from the Dallas Creek, and I love returning time and again. This visit was too early in the Fall, and you can see that neither the oaks nor cottonwoods are at prime, and the overall affect just isn't pleasing. Cranking on the saturation doesn't help, either.
