Well, two blocks from downtown. Specifically, about two blocks from the Center for Fine Art Photography, a really excellent gallery specializing in photography. They do national and international shows.
Way too much sky, IMO. The brightness of it almost completely dominates the scene to the detriment of the landscape.
The muted light on the landscape is also less than great. Sorry...

Great scene, especially so close to downtown! I'd be tempted to crop down from the top about a third to get rid of some empty sky. I'd also lighten up some of the rock areas that are very dark to pull out some of the detail.

I like it. I don't think it has too much sky because I like the way you included the whole tree on the right. I think an orange or red filter would add some nice drama to the sky.

Great winter scene. Works well in BW.
My personal taste would also be to crop the sky and create a panorama.
I prefer the cropping idea to lessen what I consider too much negative space for my taste. There's just not enough texture in the sky to include all of the tree on the right. Otherwise I think the B&W works pretty good with this one.

Thanks for the ideas. The remake has slightly less sky, and I've lightened the shadows and blacks. The texture in the snowy branches doesn't become apparent in the screen image.
