My wife and I are considering a 3 day Moab trip. We decided to hotel instead of camp. I'm surprised how expensive the hotels are I must be living in the past
Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Ramada Inn. I looked at mixed reviews and would like to get a live opinion. In conversation with the desk clerk who seemed a little high I was told I would be staying in the remodeled section  Does anyone have any recent experience
with lodging in the area?

Thanks,
Don

Don, I haven't stayed at the Ramada -- usually the Kokopelli Lodge/Suites/InnTowner. You get a full kitchen, which can save you some dining dollars. But it is high season there & everything will be expensive. You could also check the River Canyon Lodge. It's usually less than other places, 1 block off of the main strip, so it's a little quieter.

Good value locally owned inns are the Inca Inn and the Rustic Inn. I have stayed in both and they are well kept and clean but not fancy. Moab is a small place and these inns have good access to town.

Not sure where to go, but I would never stay in the Days Inn again. I should have checked the reviews before.

I've stayed at the Super 8 on a couple of trips recently. Three weeks ago we had two nights at $35/night. It was refurbished just over a year ago, if memory serves me correctly. Clean, comfortable and great value.

Don, I stayed at the Ramada a couple of years ago and it was fine. Not great but fine. I've stayed at the Super 8, Aarchway Inn, and Hampton Inn. The Hampton Inn is pretty new and I kind of like Hamptons anyway, but I had no issues with the Ramada

If you really want to go cheap, check out the Lazy Lizard hostel. They have private rooms with swamp coolers and a kitchen and shared bath. It's probably the worst kept up hostel I have ever seen, but if you can over look the shoddy construction, old fixtures in the kitchen and bath, you can do a trip to Moab for less than $100 for 3-4 nights. And the kitchen saves you from eating out, on and they have FREE wifi!

Appreciate all the inputs. Will review and make a decision today.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and that has always been good; not a bargain, but consistently quiet and clean. We stayed at the Motel 6 and it is cheaper, but only good as a place to shower and sleep. This time we were going to stay at Cali Cochitta B&B and the rate was pretty good, walking distance to downtown and included a home cooked breakfast. I had to cancel because we can't make it afterall. I have heard bad things about the Days Inn. We stayed at the River Canyon Lodge and didn't have a good experience (basically motel 6 room at holiday inn price). Good luck!

I will also ad, the River Side Inn is an old property.. Had an old tube TV and needs updating. But was a place to rest and shower for 3 hours before we left for Mesa Arch for sunrise..
